Findlay Media's New Electronics has appointed Tim Fryer as deputy editor.

Fryer will join on 28 January and previously edited Electronic Product Design from 2008 to 2011.  He was also editor of Electronics Manufacture & Test from 1995 and cut his teeth in the publishing world on Electronics Showcase in 1986.

Ed Tranter, executive director, said: “Bringing Tim on board is another demonstration of Findlay Media’s continued investment and of our desire to deliver the highest quality editorial content for our readers. We are delighted that he’s joining us.”

The strategic appointment will allow group editor Graham Pitcher to devote more time to developing a range of projects, including the conference programme for the Electronics Design Show. Fryer replaces associate editor Simon Fogg, who left New Electronics at the end of November 2012 to go travelling.
