13th August 2009

The News of the World has promoted reporter and former investment banker Paul McNamara to defence correspondent.

McNamara joined the News of the World in September 2008 as a trainee and has worked on the paper’s campaigns, including Save Our Streets and the Children’s Champions awards.

Before joining the News of the World, he spent eight months working in New York for the Daily News as a crime reporter and for the agency Big Apple.

McNamara will be replacing Ryan Sabey who is moving across to The Sun.
