Aberdeen radio station Northsound has appointed Gary Muircroft as programme director.

Currently programme controller for Central FM (Falkirk) and Wave 102 (Dundee), Muircroft will be responsible for the delivery of content on Northsound 1 and 2. He replaces Chris Thomson, who has been at the station for 11 years.

Muircroft starts his new position on 9 August.
