Olympian joins PR agency Brazil to head up sports division
London-based PR agency Brazil has appointed former Olympian Andrew Pink as head of its sports division.
Pink retired as captain of the Great British volleyball team following the London Olympics. He was a regular contributor to The Independent, The Daily Telegraph and The Guardian newspapers throughout his Olympic and professional playing career, and studied marketing and PR before turning a volleyball professional.
Brazil is looking to build its existing sports portfolio and to expand its grassroots sports campaigns.
Pink said, “Sports PR has been about the big launch, charity tie in or the main event, but there’s a lot more to it than that. As communications channels have developed, sports brands and clubs have had to adapt. Sadly, a lot of money is still wasted on poorly executed sponsorships that don’t have clear activation plans behind them."
