Panorama editor Tom Giles is to leave after four years. He will step down from the position next month before taking up a senior role at the BBC in the autumn.

From next month, Giles will lead a review into current affairs output across BBC television, radio and online.

Head of programmes Ceri Thomas will become Panorama editor for six months until a permanent appointment is made following Giles' review.
