The Times features executive Sandra Parsons is leaving to join the Daily Mail as books editor.

Parsons, who was promoted from editor of Times2 last month, departs after 13 years at the paper, having joined The Times in 1995 as features editor.

She will be replacing the Daily Mail’s long-standing books editor, Jane Mays, who is going part time to work on other projects.
