Peter Thickett retires from Daily Star

The Daily Star's Peter Thickett is retiring on 30 June.

Thickett retires after 26 years on the Daily Star racing desk. Latterly he has been racing editor and for the last three years senior tipster.

Patrick Weaver, who moved from The Sun to become racing editor of the Daily Express in July 2002, will assume Peter Thickett’s roles and be in charge of all racing matters for both dailies.
