London-based PR agency Wordville has launched an events division to meet demand for events that "run like clockwork and get noticed".

Wordville has hired event management specialist Gill Van Zwanenberg to run the division, which will focus on corporate events, press conferences and industry forums.

Van Zwanenberg, who was previously the event manager at the Imagination Gallery, will be managing the events arm of the business. During her time at Imagination, Gill worked with a small team to deliver events for clients such as British Gas, Accenture, O2, Barclay Card, Nespresso, Skoda, BBC Worldwide and Maersk.

Trained as a stage manager for theatre at RADA, Van Zwanenberg worked in the London’s West End for over 15 years before moving into the corporate world.

“The best events seem effortless,” said Van Zwanenberg.  “If it doesn’t look easy, the events company isn’t trying hard enough.  Wordville is a one of a kind agency that packs a punch and I’m excited about what we can achieve together.”

“Our team has been delivering small scale events for our clients for a number of years and setting up a division of the business to handle demand seemed like the next natural step for us. We have always had a great working relationship with Gill and when this opportunity arose to work with her on a more permanent basis it was just too good to pass up.  With Gill’s experience, contacts and know-how in the events industry, we’ve got the best in the business working with us,” said Lucy George, Mayor of Wordville.
