Rankin takes on editorship of Scottish locals

The Mearns Leader and Deeside Piper are now under the editorship of Mike Rankin.

Deeside Piper editor Douglas Hill has left the weekly newspaper after six years in the post. He is taking on a new challenge closer to home, in Angus.

Mearns Leader editor Charles Wallace has left after more than 35 years working on local weekly newspapers.
