RTÉ managing director of radio Clare Duignan is leaving the broadcaster. She opted not to renew her contract and will depart RTÉ at the end of June. Duignan is giving up the role after four years and was previously director of programmes for RTÉ's television division.

Jim Jennings, head of RTÉ Radio 1, will replace Duignan on an interim basis. RTÉ will hold a public competition for the post of managing director.

Towards the end of last month, Duignan announced Dan Healy as head of RTÉ 2fm, replacing John McMahon.
