Science correspondent appointed at ITV News

ITV News has appointed Alok Jha as science correspondent.

Jha is currently science correspondent at The Guardian and will join ITN from September. He will lead all specialist science coverage and contribute content to the ITV News website, Tonight and On Assignment programmes.

Taking over the science patch from Lawrence McGinty, Jha joins the health and science unit, alongside recently appointed health editor Catherine Jones.
