News International’s Scottish Sun promoted Nick Sharpe to chief reporter on 12 January 2011.

Sharpe had worked as a news reporter at the Sun’s Scottish operation for five years before his promotion. His new role will see him covering Scotland’s “biggest and most exciting stories.”

Sharpe said “the team we have in Glasgow is second to none, and our remit has always been to beat the competition day in, day out, and then some. Scotland is a fantastic patch, and I hope to be knocking doors and haranguing ne’er do wells here for many years to come.”
