Screen International appoints Wendy Mitchell as editor

Wendy Mitchell has been appointed as editor of Screen International and

Mitchell first joined Screen in 2005 as UK reporter, rising to news editor, senior editor, head of news and most recently head of content.

She has been a journalist for 16 years, and her previous roles include staff editor at Entertainment Weekly, managing editor at indieWIRE, assistant editor at Rolling Stone Press, and news editor at CMJ New Music Report.

She will succeed Screen’s current editor Mike Goodridge, who is joining Protagonist Pictures as CEO in August.

“I’m thrilled to take on the honour and challenge of editing Screen, especially given the strength of our current editorial team,” Mitchell said. “I look forward to working closely with the international film community to ensure that Screen’s offerings continue to reflect the constantly evolving film industry.”
