The Guardian has announced three major changes to its editorial team.

Paul Johnson, formerly deputy editor for The Guardian, will now be deputy editor for Guardian News and Media, which deals with The Guardian, The Observer and guardian.co.uk. He will report to editor in chief Alan Rusbridger.

Ian Katz, who had been Saturday Guardian editor, will now be Monday to Friday editor. Katharine Viner will take his old job, as well as look after editorial marketing.

The changes will come into effect next month.
