Shooting Star PR announces its Charity of the Year
Shooting Star has announced cancer research charity Candles as its Charity of the Year.
Each year Lincoln-based PR agency, Shooting Star PR provides free advice and expertise to a different local charity or not-for-profit organisation which would not otherwise be able to afford ongoing PR.
Candles is a fundraising charity for cancer research founded in 2001 by Pam Connock and Dyllys Firth from Skellingthorpe after they underwent treatment for the disease.
Shooting Star PR will offer its services to Candles for the remainder of 2011 including news releases, feature writing, event planning and media monitoring to help promote their fundraising efforts and raise their profile.
The charity fundraises for Professor Oleg Eremin, based at Lincoln County Hospital, and his research into immunotherapy – an alternative cancer treatment that uses the body’s immune system to fight disease rather than treatments such as chemotherapy or radiotherapy.
