Sky News creates social affairs and education editor role

Sky News has appointed Afua Hirsch as the network's first social affairs and education editor.

Hirsch has worked at The Guardian for the past five years, most recently as West Africa correspondent. She will join Sky News in the New Year, covering social affairs and education stories across all platforms. She can be found tweeting @afuahirsch.
