Sociagility ranks social performance of energy giants
Social media consultancy Sociagility has ranked the 26 energy companies in Britain in terms of social media performance.
Wind-power energy company Ecotricity is ranked 482 on the agency's Social Performance Index (SPI) against an average of 100. British Gas commanded the highest awareness levels and Scottish Power was the most receptive energy supplier. By contrast, nPower, with a lower engagement than awareness score, is perhaps relying too heavily on its heavyweight status, according to Sociagility.
Sociagility co-founder Niall Cook said: 'Recent pre-Winter price hikes by electricity and gas suppliers have put pressure on their relationships with customers. This study shows that the vast majority of brands still have a lot of work to do in order to catch up with the leaders'.
