SoS Journalists move on to pastures new

Two well-known journalists at Scotland on Sunday are leaving the paper.

Murdo MacLeod, political correspondent, is taking up a post as head of internal communications for an oil consortium in the Kazakhstan city of Atyrau.

He has been a political correspondent at SoS for the past eight years and expects to be leaving within three months.

Richard Elias, chief crime reporter, is leaving this Saturday to become deputy editor of the Scottish Daily Star.

Prior to joining Scotland on Sunday, Elias worked at the Daily Record, where he was on the crime desk.

Replacements for both posts have not yet been announced.
