Sports desk changes at Telegraph titles

The Sunday Telegraph has appointed Peter Mitchell as sports editor.

Mitchell replaces Jon Ryan, who left in February. His previous role, deputy sports editor, will be taken on by Jim Bruce-Ball, the Sunday Telegraph’s football editor.

The new appointments are part of a series of changes made to sports coverage across The Sunday Telegraph and Daily Telegraph by publishers Telegraph Media Group (TMG) since Mark Skipworth joined as executive editor (sport) across the Telegraph titles and website in April.

Other changes include the launch of a new sports news blog written by sports feature writer Andrew Baker for telegraph.co.uk, and the appointment of
Martin Chilton as deputy sports editor (planning) for the Daily Telegraph.
