The Independent’s Steve Tongue goes freelance

The Independent on Sunday football correspondent Steve Tongue has left the daily today (1 October) to go freelance.

Tongue has been a sports reporter in London since 1973, working for the likes of LBC, The London Daily News, The Sunday Correspondent and BBC Radio. He has worked for The Independent on Sunday since 2002. In 40 years as a sports journalist, he has covered two Olympic Games (Sydney and London), nine World Cups and regular Wimbledon tennis.
