The People is to make six employees redundant from the pictures department following a review of editorial processes.

It is now expected to rely on a pool of freelance staff to provide pictures.

The People’s publisher, Trinity Mirror, confirmed that its Sunday paper had entered a consultation with a small number of staff and the their representative body, the British Association of Journalists, on voluntary redundancies.
