The Register is set to launch a Weekend Register this Friday 22 August.

It will initially be a section on the The Register and, in the UK, will be available from around lunchtime on Fridays.

Content will include BOFH, QuoTW, and columns from Alistair Dabbs on technology and Tim Worstall on economics. Comments of the Week will return with input from Big Data analysis of upvotes and downvotes from website users.

Specially commissioned reviews of topics unrelated to work such as books, movies or cars will be introduced; topic suggestions should be sent to features editor Bob Dormon. News videocasts fronted by anchor Regina Eggbert also from part of the offering, as well as breaking news coverage and social media content mainly from Kelly Fiveash who has been appointed weekend editor.

This weekend’s issue will see the unveiling of a full data version of The Register’s Monopoly board pubcrawl.
