The Scotsman staff changes

The Scotsman has appointed Colin McNeill, assistant editor at The News in Portsmouth, as head of content.

McNeill, who joins the paper in February 2008, will be responsible for overall newsgathering at the Scotsman and Scotsman.com.

Deputy news editor Frank O’Donnell has been promoted to news editor, replacing James Hall who left to join the Sunday Telegraph.

Alan Greenwood has recently been appointed editor of Scotsman.com.

Business editor Nick Bevens has left. Scott Reid, deputy business editor is currently covering for Bevens.

The News is a daily regional newspaper covering Portsmouth. Both The Scotsman and The News are owned by Johnston Press.
