The Sun and Times swap journalists
Steve Hawkes, business journalist at The Times, is to replace Ian King as business editor of the Sun.
King is leaving The Sun to join the Times as deputy business editor after more than eight years as editor of the Sun’s City section.
King joined the Sun in 2001 and has regularly appeared as a commentator on radio and TV, including Sky News and on Jeff Randall’s BBC Radio 5 Live Sunday business programme.
Prior to the Sun he spent 18 months at the Mail on Sunday and three years at the Guardian.
Hawkes has been at the Times for 18 months, joining as industrial reporter, before moving to cover retail.
Before that he worked at the Daily Mirror between 2005 and 2006, becoming editor of the Your Money section.
Hawkes has also worked at the Evening Standard and the Press Association.
