The Times editor James Harding resigns

James Harding stepped down as editor of The Times yesterday (12 December).

Harding, 43, has been the youngest ever editor of the News International title. He will leave at the end of the month, after five years in the position. He joined in 2006, initially as business editor, after having run the Washington bureau for the Financial Times.

A successor will be announced in due course.
