The Times editor steps down

Robert Thomson, editor of The Times, has stepped down to run The Wall Street Journal as publisher.

James Harding, formerly business editor of The Times, has replaced Thomson as editor.

Harding, who started his new role this week, has yet to appoint a business editor.
