Thelondonpaper has appointed Mark Wilkinson as news editor.

Wilkinson, who will join the London freesheet in February, recently left his role as assistant news editor at The Evening Standard.

Dave Brown, who is normally deputy news editor at thelondonpaper, will
continue as acting news editor until Wilkinson starts in his new role.

Deputy editor Bridget Harrison is now on maternity leave, with former
3am girl Eva Simpson covering as acting deputy editor.

Thelondonpaper is published by News International, and is distributed
free to commuters in Central London from Monday to Friday.
