Trinity Mirror is set to launch Edinburgh Now, a free weekly newspaper for Edinburgh, as it continues its expansion into Scotland.

The title will be available in local copies of the Daily Record, plus from street distributors and in various selected retail outlets, with the first issue out next Wednesday.

A statement by Trinity’s Scottish subsidiary Media Scotland said the new paper would “showcase the best of Edinburgh – the arts, business, columnists, sport and, of course, the people".

Edinburgh Now follows the launch of Aberdeen Now in April, another regional title distributed with the Daily Record.

Editor in chief Allan Rennie said: “This is another exciting launch for Scotland’s leading print and digital publishers. Edinburgh Now will offer a distinctive voice in the city, one which supports local communities and businesses.”

More information on the title will be available on FeaturesExec shortly.
