In the East Midlands, both The Long Eaton Advertiser and Nu News have closed.

The Long Eaton Advertiser, a weekly title which had been running for nearly 130 years, and the free Nu News, had been put up for sale by owners Trinity Mirror.

Editorial staff have transferred to sister titles, but the advertising staff have been made redundant.
