Lancaster Guardian is extending its business section.

Chief reporter Nick Lakin is looking for members of the local business community to act as guest editors to write columns for the business pages, which will also include features, Q&A, a "person focus", contribution from the Chamber of Commerce and general business news.

The section will be launched as part of a content overhaul of the entire Guardian in late September.

Lancaster and Morecambe Newspapers has also appointed Gemma Sherlock as a trainee reporter. Sherlock will write for both the Lancaster Guardian and The Visitor (Morecambe) and can be found tweeting @gemmasherlock2.
