Ted Verity, editor-in-chief of Associated Newspapers’ Irish titles, is returning to London after four years.

He will return to the Mail on Sunday as executive editor, with responsibility for special projects and the paper’s online operations.

Previously associate editor of the Mail on Sunday, Verity was appointed editor-in-chief of Ireland on Sunday and oversaw its conversion into the Irish Mail on Sunday in September 2006. He also supervised the Irish Daily Mail launch in February 2006.

Paul Field, executive editor of The Mail on Sunday, will move to Ireland to replace Verity.
