Victoria Newton promoted to deputy editor at The Sun

News International has promoted Victoria Newton to deputy editor at The Sun.

Newton joined The Sun after her role as deputy editor on the News of the World ended when the tabloid closed.

Newton joins current deputy editors Simon Cosyns and Geoff Webster working under editor Dominic Mohan.

A spokeswoman for News International said that the promotion "reflected the successful launch of the Sunday edition of The Sun".
