Cambridge-based integrated agency, Ware Anthony Rust (WAR), has been appointed by Cambridgeshire Horizons to design and build an ‘e-community’ website for new and existing residents living on the southern fringe of Cambridge.

When complete in Spring 2011 the online space will provide a forum for discussions, an area to promote local groups, provide background information about local associations, links to partner websites and access to frequently asked questions such as bin collection days and how to register for school places.

It is intended that the e-community will evolve into a valuable tool for helping to promote digital skill development, while engaging with a broad cross section of residents, including those who have traditionally been harder to reach. The provision of the e-community aims to complement the more traditional means for local residents to meet and the lessons learnt from the project will be used on other major development sites within the local area.
