Western Gazette’s sports editor, Richard Briggs, is leaving at the end of this week (23 April) to pursue a freelance career. Briggs has headed the sports team for the Yeovil-based title since 1998.

He has 23 years’ experience in the industry, having worked at the Newsquest Media Group, Star Newspapers Ltd and Northcliffe Media.

Western Gazette is a weekly newspaper published by Northcliffe Media.
