Studio Edge is proud to announce the addition of a debut jewellery collection for men to its portfolio; OSARE, designed by Leeds-based Gary Thompson.

The online jewellery boutique Studio Edge (www.studioedge.co.uk ) launched earlier this year, showcasing up-and-coming jewellery designers and their debut collections. The boutique opened its virtual doors with collections from Noreen Mirza, Jean Tiquet and Thai-born designer Art, but OSARE is the first collection designed for men to appear on the site.

OSARE (http://www.studioedge.co.uk/branded-collections-osare.html ) is a capsule collection of male jewellery made from Palladium, with the signature of each piece being a single hidden black diamond. The Autumn/ Winter range consists of 15 pieces including pendants, rings, cufflinks and bracelets, with a contemporary design inspired by modern architecture, the automobile industry and sport. On its inception, the brand was the first to receive the new Palladium hallmark from the Sheffield Assay Office when it was introduced in July 2009.

OSARE is the debut collection from jewellery designer Gary Thompson. Gary said of the range “OSARE is a collection of jewellery that was designed to celebrate the strength of men; not just physical strength but emotional strength too. This is reflected in both the materials used and the aesthetic design; physically, Palladium may be light in weight, but it’s immensely durable and doesn’t tarnish, leather has a raw power to it and the black diamond symbolises authority and power.”

He continues “Aesthetically, the hard angular lines contrast with perhaps a surprising softer curve – not only does this mirror elements of modern architecture such as the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, but also reflects man’s softer side against his often ‘macho’ exterior.”

The collections on Studio Edge are diverse and eclectic; OSARE’s design is strong and stunning in its simplicity, Jean Tiquet’s signature style combines diamonds and white gold in fluid designs influenced by nature, and Noreen Mirza’s current collection is perfect for anyone looking for pearl bridesmaid jewellery (http://www.studioedge.co.uk/shop-1-29/necklaces/unique-pearl... ) with a range of beautiful pearl pieces, in a variety of colours and designs.

The ethos of Studio Edge is to both support burdgeoning talent in jewellery design, as well as providing people with a real passion for jewellery access to new and exciting designs. The designers will be joined on the site by guest contributors from the jewellery industry, sharing their vast knowledge of jewellery – anything from events in the industry and insights into future jewellery trends, through to how best to care for your most precious pieces. With prices starting at £20, feeding your passion doesn’t have to break the bank.
