Choosing perfect party drinks is a challenge when it comes to entertaining over a thousand guests at one of the biggest celebrity parties in the world of Film. Mixed with effortless flair, over 2500 Stolichnaya cocktails crowned the night at the British Independent Film Awards 6 December 2009, London (BIFAs).

The BIFAs annually mark the start of the global film awards season. This was an occasion when VIP ropes are loosened as some of the biggest names in cinema join the very egalitarian party, reflecting the independent spirit that sets BIFA apart.

Stolichnaya Russian vodka cocktails were designed by top mixologist Wayne Collins, seen weekly on BBC television, together with London cocktail kings, Squeeze. The cocktail menu combined classic flavours with fresh new trends for serving fast and fresh.
- Stolichnaya Best of British - Stoli vodka, fresh lime, ginger beer, bitters. Dry and refreshing for sophisticated subtlety.
- Screen elit by Stolichnaya - Super-luxury elit by Stolichnaya on the rocks, with wedge of fresh lime or twist of peel.
- Stolichnaya Red Carpet - Stoli Razberi vodka, cranberry, fresh lime juice. Flamboyant and fresh.
- The Stolichnaya Short - Stoli Vanil vodka, fragrant mint leaves, lemon, orange. Aromatic and smooth.
[These are foundation recipes, easy to mix at home, but enhanced with some mixology magic for the party.]

Best Actor sponsored by elit by Stolichnaya was Tom Hardy for his role in Bronson.
Best Supporting Actor sponsored by Stolichnaya was John Henshaw for his role in Looking for Eric.

The BIFAs hosted a full complement of top nominees, cinema legends and newcomers. Guests include Sir Michael Caine, honoured with the Variety award for bringing the international spotlight to the British Film Industry, and Daniel Day-Lewis with the Richard Harris Award for Outstanding Contribution to British Film by an Actor. Numerous other famous faces included: Aaron Johnson, Andy Serkis, Armando Iannucci, Anne-Marie Duff, Carey Mulligan, Derek Jacobi, Eva Green, Gemma Arterton, James Nesbitt, Rosamund Pike, Sam Taylor Wood.
