ARE YOU A SUNNY EASTER BUNNY
OR DOES YELLOW MAKE YOU RUN FOR THE SHADE?
Which Celebrity Shines in it!
Is yellow your favourite colour? If so, you are likely to be happy, cheerful, bright and enjoy life. So why do so many women dislike wearing it? Jules Standish, Celebrity Colour Stylist (www.colourconsultancy.co.uk) says “yellow is the most unpopular colour choice with my female clients who often reject it until I show them how flattering it is. As yellow relates to self esteem I find many women are lacking in confidence and shy away from this colour, when psychologically it can be exactly what they need!”
Jules gives us her top ten tips for getting shades of yellow into your life and which celebrity shines in it!
- If you have a warm, yellow-based skin tone then most shades of yellow will suit you; butter, daffodil, lemon, banana, gold and cream.
- If your skin tone is bronze based then the mustards and golds will look best with golden yellow being the most striking particularly with brown and green eyes.
- Cool skins beware; pastel shades suit the softer paler colourings, and acid yellow is the most striking shade with strong, cool winter features, but this colour doesn’t sit naturally with blue-based skin.
- Choose a yellow t-shirt to wear under a jacket/cardigan to get used to the colour if it’s new to you – you don’t need to spend a fortune.
- Wear a print or plain yellow scarf against the face for an instant lift.
- Men can wear a yellow patterned tie with dark blue and grey suits.
- Balance yellow items with violet or purple for a harmonious look.
- Use a yellow light bulb whilst studying to help clarify the mind.
- Put yellow, spring flowers like daffodils and tulips inside your home to instantly bring the sunshine indoors and to cheer up your mood.
Anna Kendrick was glowing in a yellow ruffle dress at this years Baftas, Nicole Kidman wore a butter coloured satin dress at the “Golden Globes” recently which worked in harmony with her red hair and alabaster skin, along with Anna Paquin who positively shone in her choice of strong gold.
