JOURNALIST NATASHA COURTENAY-SMITH SHORTLISTED AS LEADING WOMAN IN HER FIELD, WHILE TALK TO THE PRESS WINS SECOND BUSINESS AWARD
Natasha Courtenay-Smith, the founder of press and publicity agency Talk to the Press (http://www.talktothepress.co.uk) has been shortlisted for the High Growth Award at the Women on Their Way Awards. The news comes just days after Talk to the Press was named “Outstanding New Publicity Solution” by the Global Business Excellence Awards.
The agency was launched two years ago and specialises in helping ordinary people sell their extraordinary stories to the media. The agency’s team of writers advises people on whether they have a story which may be of interest to the national media, helping them decide which publications to aim for, and manages all their contracts and fees accordingly.
Natasha says: “I am thrilled to have been nominated for a Women on Their Way award – and to have won a Global Business Excellence Award. Despite the recession, the business has gone from strength to strength and I’m looking forward to growing it even further.”
The winners of this year’s Women on Their Way Awards will be announced on Friday 19th March at the Women on Their Way Annual Awards Lunch taking place at Aston Villa Football Club, Birmingham. The Awards are the brainchild of former Apprentice Candidate Jo Cameron and her Co-Director Lisa Ibbotson.
Jo Cameron commented: “We are delighted that Natasha has been shortlisted. There are so many amazing women in the UK who don’t always recognise the impact they have made and it is my absolute privilege to be inspired by so many incredible women. We are very much looking forward to announcing the winners in a few weeks time.”
Talk to the Press was also recently recognised as Outstanding New Publicity Solution by the Global Business Excellence Awards. Andrew Areoff, the chairman of the judging panel, said: “Talk to the Press provides ordinary people with the skill and know-how to tell their story to the world. Dealing with the media can be a daunting process but Talk to the Press guides their clients through the media maze and holds their hand all the way. Their specialist knowledge, eye for a great story and client focus sets them apart. Not only have they developed a great proposition, they also deliver what their clients want and expect in a caring and professional way.” Talk to the Press now joins other major firms who have been honoured by the GBEA, including EDF Energy, Lloyds Banking Group and Kessler International.
Natasha adds: “We pride ourselves on taking care of our clients. Giving people a way to tell their stories to the world is the best part of my job and I feel very lucky to be in the position to help.”
