Flagship Consulting to manage PR for furniture makers
The Worshipful Company of Furniture Makers (known as the Company) has appointed Flagship Consulting to plan, develop and implement an ongoing public relations campaign.
As the City of London Livery Company for the furniture industry, the Company aims to promote and develop the design, making and selling of furniture and furnishing in the United Kingdom and its marketing worldwide. It also offers benevolent support and student bursaries through its charitable arm, the Furnishing Industry Trust (FIT).
The PR programme will support the Company in achieving its objectives: widening awareness of the Company and its aims, publicising its charitable work, and promoting its Hall as a London venue of choice for businesses, especially from the industry. Later, ongoing PR will be used to inform consumers and specifiers of the benefits of buying furniture bearing the Company’s Guild Marks.
Hugh Garforth-Bles, Master of the Worshipful Company of Furniture Makers said: “The Company has ambitious aims to increase both its membership and its philanthropic and charitable activities, while promoting the best in British design and manufacturing to consumers. A joined-up and multi-channel public relations campaign is crucial in helping us achieve these goals.”
