Rain Communications to promote Sudeley Castle

Rain Communications UK has been appointed to manage a 2012 national and international media campaign for Sudeley Castle.

Rain’s brief is to promote the captivating heritage site as a tourism destination to drive an additional 20,000 visitors per year to one of the UK’s most romantic and historically significant castles. The agency will be reporting to castle owner Lady Ashcombe and General Manager Kevin Jones and working alongside Sudeley Castle’s national marketing & local PR agency Media Eden.

Rain UK will publicise a six month calendar of events to boost visitor footfall during the season, leveraging anticipated growth in the ‘staycation’ by domestic tourists in the UK. Events include The Queen Katherine Parr Quincentenary Festival 2012, a historical, literary and musical event marking 500 years since the birth of Henry VIII’s sixth wife.

The account will be headed up by Agency MD Delia Hyde and Rain’s destination PR experts Alison Wood and Katie Blake, who will be drawing on Rain’s national and international and broadcast media relationships, as well as tourism partners such as Visit Britain, Visit England & Foreign Press Association.
