FT announces senior appointments
The FT has announced several appointments to its US, UK and Asia editorial teams:
John McDermott has been named executive comment editor, responsible for editing the FT’s comment pages in print and online. Based in London, McDermott reports to Alec Russell, comment and analysis editor.
Tracy Alloway, previously deputy editor of FT Alphaville, has been appointed US financial correspondent, based in New York.
Vivianne Rodrigues has also joined the FT’s New York bureau as US capital markets reporter, covering US markets and focusing on currencies, as well as emerging markets. She also writes the FT’s Global Market Overview from New York. Rodrigues joined the FT in 2010 as a writer for FT Tilt.
Paul J Davies has been appointed Asia financial correspondent. Based in Hong Kong, he will cover mergers & acquisitions activity in Asia and regional business and finance affairs. He has held a variety of roles at the FT in London over the past 12 years and was most recently insurance correspondent.
As reported in the FeaturesExec Media Bulletin last week, the FT has also appointed Guy Chazan as energy correspondent and Neil Hume as Australia Pacific Correspondent.
Finally, Gwen Robinson has also been appointed Bangkok correspondent. Previously at the FT’s Japan bureau, Robinson will be covering Burma, Cambodia, Laos and Thailand, and occasionally Vietnam.
