Editor appointed at Cornish weekly
Newquay Voice has appointed Simon Fernley as editor of the Cornish-based weekly.
Fernley replaces Matt Bond, who had worked for the paper for eight years, four of which as editor.
Bond takes up the role of head of video production at Cornish Council.
New editor Fernley has more than 20 years of experience in local newspapers, mostly spent covering the Newquay area. He is former assistant editor of Northcliffe-owned weekly the Cornish Guardian, and was also responsible for the Newquay edition.
Newquay Voice is an independently owned community newspaper.
