The FT has announced the appointment of Christine Spolar as investigations and special projects editor, Michael Mackenzie as US markets editor and Shahien Nasiripour as financial and regulatory correspondent.

Based in London, Spolar will be responsible for in-depth investigative reports for the newspaper and FT.com.

New York-based Mackenzie and Nasiripour will the lead the FT’s coverage of US markets and US financial regulation respectively. Mackenzie will cover US stocks, bonds, commodities, foreign exchange, derivatives, wealth and fund management while Nasiripour will be reporting on the impact of US legislation on business and finance, with an additional focus on housing and financial firms.
