Port Talbot Magnet to launch print newspaper
Local news website Port Talbot Magnet is to launch a print newspaper this month.
The first edition of the free monthly newspaper will be a pilot edition with a limited print run, and will be out at the end of April.
The Welsh town has been without a local paper since 2009 when the Port Talbot Guardian was closed by Trinity Mirror.
The Magnet, which was launched in 2011, is appealing for local people to bring in news stories, photographs, sport match reports and previews, film, gig and restaurant reviews, local history, and ongoing news about the town – campaigns, charity events, announcements, local groups, business stories, family celebrations, obituaries, missing pets, crime and accidents. The newspaper has a newly developed app, Little J, in partnership with Cardiff University and We Are Behaviour, to help people submit news stories to the title.
Port Talbot Magnet will be added to the FeaturesExec Media Database shortly.
