The Times announces senior editorial appointments
The Times’s David Wighton has been appointed associate editor, business and politics, with Ian King succeeding him as business and city editor.
In this role, Wighton will become the paper’s chief business commentator, writing a column on the opinion pages that covers both business and politics. He will also write a weekly column on the business pages and provide analysis on economic policy and business affairs across the news pages.
Wighton was appointed The Times’s business and city editor in January 2008, and previously spent 14 years with the Financial Times. King joined The Times as deputy business editor in November 2008 and was previously business editor of The Sun for almost nine years.
