Editor-in-chief appointed at Newsquest Essex
The Chichester Observer Series editor Colin Channon is to leave Johnston Press to become editor-in-chief at The Echo (Basildon) and Colchester Gazette.
Channon will commence the role on 20 January, where he will also have overall responsibilty for a series of weekly titles, including the Essex County Standard, Clacton & Frinton Gazette and the Harwich and Manningtree Standard.
He will replace Martin McNeill, who is retiring after more than 40 years in the industry.
