NME to close print publication for digital expansion

NME

Time Inc. UK confirmed today (7 March) that this week’s issue of NME will be the last free print edition as the brand prepares to expand digitally.

The digital expansion will see the brand launch NME Radio, consisting of two channels; NME 1 will aim to showcase new talent, with NME 2 covering the classics. In place of the magazine’s weekly cover star interview, NME will have an in-depth feature called ‘The Big Read’ on NME.com. NME’s biggest stories of the week alongside the leading ‘Big Read’ feature will be available in the app store.

NME will continue to publish special issues in print, including paid-for series NME Gold. The brand will continue to explore other print opportunities.
