Ambit Magazine has appointed Briony Bax as editor. 

Bax replaces former editor and founder Dr. Martin Bax who is to become editor emeritus. It is the first time in 52 years an editor has been appointed. 

Bax is the daughter of the late poet Adrian Mitchell. She said: "Martin is going to be a hard act to follow but I’m honored and delighted to have been asked to be his successor. I’ve been a long-time subscriber, a contributor and a fan and I am looking forward to taking Ambit back to its roots – to find new talent in poetry, short stories and art."
