Ben Laurance, who was previously working at The Sunday Times, has joined the Daily Mail as associate city editor.

Laurance is working with the existing city team across a range of financial news and contributes business features to the rest of the paper.

He is also covering the retail sector while Lucy Farndon is on maternity leave.
