Caledonian Mercury website redesign

The Caledonian Mercury website has been redesigned with a greater emphasis on readers to write for the site.

Editor Stewart Kirkpatrick said 'The Caley Merc has evolved, and will continue to evolve. It is far from the finished product, very far from paying our journalists a decent amount and very, very far from being the answer to the ills of the Scottish media. But we are still here and still trying, still experimenting and still determined to succeed.'

The redesigned site has improved usability, design, navigation and an email newsletter.

Also, the team have applied more of a structure to when and how articles appear. Most of the pieces by its core team will appear on a Wednesday, although other content will appear through the week.
